Kwankwaso Declares PDP A ‘Dead Party’, APC Out Of Touch With Reality

Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the National Leader and 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has described the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as a “dead party.”

He also criticised the All Progressives Congress (APC) for being out of touch with the realities faced by Nigerians.

Kwankaso listed worsening insecurity, poverty, and hunger as the evils bedeviling APC’s rule in the country.

Speaking at the NNPP’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Monday, Kwankwaso expressed his confidence in the NNPP’s growth despite challenges.

He described the party as the fastest-growing political movement in the country.

He also thanked supporters for their commitment and reiterated that the NNPP stands as a viable alternative in the nation’s political landscape.

Kwankwaso stated, “Despite all the challenges, our party is the fastest-growing party in this country.”

He stated further, “When I visited Katsina State to commission our office, I mentioned that the two parties, especially the PDP, were dead.

“Many didn’t see what was happening then, but now, with the internal chaos, I believe everyone agrees that the PDP is finished.”

On the APC, Kwankwaso criticised the ruling party, stating that its leadership is disconnected from the suffering of Nigerians.

“The APC leadership is detached, while the people are on the ground facing immense hardship.Voters believe the government is performing poorly, especially on security, poverty, and hunger.”

NNPP National Chairman, Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, urged Nigerians to unite for a better future, while National Secretary, Dipo Olayoku, called on party members to actively participate in local government elections to strengthen democracy and boost visibility.

He also highlighted the party’s recent constitutional updates, ratified in April, which align with Nigeria’s legal frameworks, and reiterated the NNPP’s commitment to supporting its leaders and respecting the electorate’s will amidst ongoing political challenges.
