The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor, Dr William Kumuyi, has called on youths to imbibe the I can do principle and prepare themselves for leadership by making choices that ultimately lead to stardom.
Speaking on the topic, ‘Living Like Profitable Stars in Our World,’ at the Youth Impact Academy on the sideline of the ongoing Global Crusade with Kumuyi, GCK, at Aba tagged ‘Prevailing Stars’, Pastor Kumuyi challenged the youths with examples from the Bible including Samuel, Timothy, Andrew, Ruth, among others, who impacted their world by the choices they made.
The founder of the Deeper Life Bible Church declared that anyone who followed the principles of the Bible characters, including setting the right priorities, perseverance, endurance and hard work, would also make the impact those characters made.
He urged them to shun vices that could destroy their lives and future, reminding them that godly choices would ensure God’s favour for a successful life.
“With an anecdote of his own life, he told the young people how God used an atheist to sponsor his university education, where he made First Class, and became a lecturer and now preacher and evangelist. He assured that favour was readily available to those who prepared for it.
According to the cleric, “There is no way anyone can become a star if they remain in the same level of growth.
“Many years ago, I didn’t know I could take the principles and apply them to myself until the Lord showed me and I said I could, that’s when a new journey began. Also, to you, the day you change from I cannot to I can, you know that God begins with you.”
Taking a Bible reference from Daniel chapter 12 verse 3, Kumuyi reminded the youths that attitude was the key to stardom and charged them to gear up for service that would impact society positively regardless of the religious or ethnic background of the beneficiaries.
“Attitude is what makes us attain greatness in life. Those without gratitude or fortitude also lack attitude,” he said and urged them to be bold and decisive in marriage and management of resources.
The Pastor said: “Progress stops in life when passion and drive die. If you are too choosey and will not adjust easily, you will not make it to stardom. You must be active in bringing others to a better destiny.”
He added that society was in need of men and women who would become agents of positive change.
