
The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Bethrand Onuoha, has presented cheques worth N48,681,738.48 from group life assurance policies to the families of 22 deceased officers.
In a statement released on Friday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, said the presentation took place on Wednesday, 3 September 2024, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

The cheques were given to the families of officers who died in active service, as well as to officers injured in accidents while carrying out their official duties.
According to him, the gesture is part of the welfare initiatives strived to help the families of fallen officers and assist those injured in the line of duty.
It is also intended to encourage officers still in service to continue being diligent.
The statement added, “The CP, on behalf of the IGP, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased officers and acknowledged the sacrifices made by the fallen heroes.”
He reaffirmed IGP Egbetokun’s persistent devotion to enhancing the welfare of all officers, including those currently serving, retired, or deceased.
