Kano State Government has announced the indefinite postponement of school resumption for primary and secondary schools in the state for the 2024/2025 academic session.
The Kano State Government in a statement issued on Monday by Balarabe Kiru, Director of Public Enlightenment in the Ministry of Education, cited “urgent reasons” for the postponement without specifying further details.
The Commissioner for Education, Umar Doguwa, assured that the new resumption date would be announced soon, urging parents, students, and guardians to remain patient and understanding.

In the same vein, it will be recalled that New Telegraph reported that the Edo State Government also postponed school resumption indefinitely attributing its decision to the recent surge in petrol prices, which has led to economic difficulties for parents and guardians.
Both states had originally scheduled schools to resume on September 9, 2024, for the 2024/2025 academic session.
