The Kano State Government has shifted the school resumption date for all-day public and private primary and post-primary schools to Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
Meanwhile, students in boarding schools across the state will resume on Monday, 16 September 2024.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment of the State Ministry of Education, Balarabe Kiru.

According to him, the State Commissioner of Education, Umar Doguwa who spoke on Sunday revealed that the adjustment followed the declaration of 16 September 2024 as a public holiday to mark Eid-el-Maulud.
“The adjustment is to allow students to celebrate the holy date marking the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW),” he said.
“While congratulating the Muslim Ummah, I wish to call on them to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and patriotism and to continue to pray for the state and the nation at large,” he added.
The statement urged parents and guardians of students to take note of the new resumption date to ensure complete compliance.
