Kaduna: Gunmen kill retired AVM in his living room

Some unidentified gunmen on Monday night shot dead retired Air Vice-Marshall Mohammed Maisaka, at his residence in Kaduna. The gunmen were said to have walkedintohisliving roomandshot him in the presence of his wife. Before his demise, the late Maisaka resided in Rigasa, Igabi LocaGovernmentAreaof KadunaState.

The retiredAirForce Officerwas also until his murder last night, the Proprietor and Managing Director of MSK Hospital, a medical facility heestablishedtohelpthehighlypopulated Rigasa community, a suburb of Kaduna metropolis. AVM Maisaka (retd) is a former Director of the Nigerian Air force Medical Services and an ABU Teaching Hospital Lecturer of Internal Medicine. Though, the Police was yet to make any statement on the incident, a close family ally, Abubakar Gwantu said, “the armed men arrivedMaisaka’shouselateyesterday (Monday) nightandmethimandhis wifeinthelivingroomandshothim dead.

“ According to him, “The gunmen first visited the boys quarters and picked his personal physiologist and theyforcedhim to leadthem into the main house. During the commotion, theyinstantlykilledhim(AVMMaisaka). “Itiscertainlyacaseof aplanned murder,” he alleged. He further said, “they (gunmen) told his wife, that they didn’t have anybusinesswithherandjustcasually left the house without picking a thing orthreatening anyonefurther after killing the man,” he said. Gwantu stated further that, Maisaka had been paralyzed due to a medical condition for about three yearsandhadbeeninrehabilitation until his murder Monday night. According to him, “Whoever is responsible for this must have held alonggrudgesagainsthim, because Maisaka has long not been in circulation, but only went for treatment abroad.
