The Nasarawa State Deputy Governor’s driver, Daniel Ogoshi has been kidnapped by gunmen.
New Telegraph gathered that the driver was kidnapped from his friend’s home on Tuesday night at about 9:30 pm in Lafia, the state capital, near Ombi 2, College of Agriculture, Kwandere Road.
It was also gathered that during the operation, the gunmen took his car and left behind his phone.
It was terrible, according to a family friend of the victim who confirmed the occurrence to our correspondent.
He noted that he received a call at about 9 pm informing him that his brother had been abducted by the kidnappers.
Recall that Prof. Onje Gye-Wado, a former deputy governor of the state, was recently kidnapped and freed after his captors received a ransom payment of roughly N4 million.
Chris Ehima, the deputy governor’s press secretary, verified the incident and said he was aware of it but lacked sufficient knowledge of what had happened.
Ehima expressed dismay at the event and vowed that the state will take all necessary steps to ensure the release of the driver who had been kidnapped.
Also, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel, while confirming the incident said the police were on top of the matter.
