Former Super Eagles of Nigeria, Austin Jay Jay Okocha has shared his opinion on the ongoing debate about who the greater footballer is between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Jay Jay Okocha expressed his belief that both players are great, referring to them as “GOATs” (Greatest of All Time), but personally favoring Messi as his “GOAT”.
Okocha who made these comments during an interview with Pulse Nigeria, where he emphasized his admiration for Messi’s style of play, explained that Messi appears more natural to him.

When asked to choose the GOAT between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, Jay Jay Okocha said: “They are both GOATs but my personal GOAT is Messi because he looks more natural to me.”
The debate about who is the GOAT between the 36-year-old Argentina international, Lionel Messi, and the 39-year-old Portugal international, Cristiano Ronaldo, who have both showcased exceptional skills and talent throughout their careers, continues to divide fans across the world.
The two football icons have collectively won 13 Ballon d’Or awards, with Messi claiming 8 and Ronaldo winning 5.
Despite their remarkable achievements, they were notably absent from this year’s Ballon d’Or nominations, leading many to speculate on the potential end of their era in football.
