Insecurity: Gov Aliyu, Sultan Call For More Support To End Terrorism

Sokoto State Government has reiterated its commitment to spend any amount in an effort to ensure peace and stability in the entire state.

Also, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Muhammad Abubakar has commended the state government and security agencies for their persistent efforts in addressing security challenges, urging for sustained commitment.

The State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu gave this assurance in a stent issued by his Deputy, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir while receiving the Minister of Defence Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar who visited him in his office at Government House Sokoto.

Alhaji Gobir said the Ahmed Aliyu administration has prioritise security and that was the reason it topped the nine points Agenda of the current administration in the state.

He appreciated the cordial working relationship existing between the government, Military and other security outfits.

He described the visit as timely, adding that it would go along way in encouraging troops to further redouble efforts in ensuring security.

Earlier, Alhaji Badaru Abubakar said he is in the state to visit troops and engage them on how to improve their activities.

Badaru, however, acknowledged the efforts of security agencies in the fight against banditry.

According to him, many bandits among them, dreaded ones, were neutralised while other were arrested and a number of kidnapped victims were rescued.

He said some of the dreaded bandits neutralised include Ali Kawaje, Isyaku Bajeru and Damina among others.

The Minister, however, said much is need to be done to ensure that peace continue to reign in the state and the nation at large.

He appreciated the state government continued support for security agencies with a view to combating banditry.

Abubakar III who confessed on the existing security challenges in Nigeria said Nigerians are witnessing substantial progress and dedication towards ending the menace .

Sultan maintain that the nation gallant security forces should be encourage and support to end the fight against banditry.
