…Urges Communities to support onslaught against terrorism
The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle has expressed the Federal Government’s optimism to flushing out bandits and other criminal elements in the north-west as the ongoing military operations in the region is witnessing huge success.
Matawalle, therefore, urged North-west communities to support the Nigeria Army’s efforts to end insecurity menace in the region while speaking in Sokoto State on Wednesday.
The Minister who returned to Sokoto, joined by General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, and other military chiefs, to intensify the fight against terrorism in the North-West region.
“Their mission is to dismantle criminal networks and restore peace, particularly targeting notorious bandit leader Bello Turji and his gang”.
Matawalle expressed deep concern over the persistent attacks by bandits and terrorists, emphasizing the need for intensified military action.
He assured residents of Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, and Kebbi that security forces would leave no stone unturned in their efforts to flush out the bandits.
The Federal Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is committed to deploying the necessary resources to eradicate these criminal elements and rest in peace.
Matawalle commended Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State for supporting the operations and called on other governors, leaders, and stakeholders to collaborate with the Federal Government.
Matawalle expressed optimism that the gallant troops will sustain successes through ‘Fansan Yamma’ operations.
He reiterated the Federal Government’s unwavering resolve to protect the lives and properties of all Nigerians, emphasizing that security and well-being remain the government’s top priority.
