
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday announced that it has closed its online portal as it released a summary of polling and collation agents submitted by 18 political parties.
INEC’s National Commissioner, Sam Olumekun, announced the closure of the portal, which shut down at midnight on September 30, 2024.
He noted that INEC expected 74,790 agents but received only 24,148 submissions, representing 32.3% of the expected number.

The Commission revealed that 18 political parties submitted 22,689 polling agents, 1,249 ward agents, 196 Local Government agents, and 14 State collation agents.
However, three political parties fail to nominate agents at all levels of polling and collation.
INEC disclosed that a detailed breakdown of submissions is available on its website and social media platforms for public access.
With 3,933 polling units and 222 collation centres in Ondo State, INEC anticipated higher participation from political parties.
