Independence Day: RCCG Calls For Special Prayers For Nigeria

Ahead of the 64th Independence Day celebration on Tuesday, October 1, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has said that Nigeria needs special prayers, expressing confidence that with divine wisdom, the seemingly hopeless situation in the country can be defeated.

The church, which called on Nigerians to work hand in hand to build a brighter future for all, said as preparations are ongoing, a reaffirmation of commitment to national unity and cohesion was important, alongside the conscious recognition that diversity is the nation’s strength and the differences are what make the people unique.

Speaking at a briefing on behalf of the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration, who is the Pastor-in-Charge of Region 1, Pastor Oladele Balogun, said the church would host a special Independence Day Prayers and Celebration Service on October 6 at the National Headquarters in Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

Balogun said there will be corporate thanksgiving to God for His faithfulness and love upon the nation. Also, prayers for all government functionaries and students, particularly those in higher institutions would be led by the General Overseer.
