
Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Azubuike Ihejirika, (rtd), is to head the Abia State Security Advisory Council constituted by Governor Alex Otti. Otti also constituted the Board of the State Security Trust Fund. A release from Governor Otti’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Kazie Uko, said while Ihejirika chairs the Security Advisory Council, retired DIG Uche Ivy Okoronkwo will serve as the Deputy.
Others are retired Director of DSS, Mr Ray Nkemdirim; Major General Abel Obi Umahi, AVM Emmanuel Chukwu (rtd), Major General JO Nwaogbo (rtd) and Navy Cmdr Macdonald Uba (rtd), as Secretary. On the other hand, Chief Stanley Obiamarije serves as chairman of the Security Trust Fund, while Owelle Greg Okafor, Mrs. Ngozi Ekeoma and Chief Johnson Chukwu will serve as members. Other members include, Mrs. Josephine Nweze, Mrs. Nkechi Obi and Mr. BankAnthony Okoroafor. According to the release, the appointments take immediate effect.
