The member representing Afikpo and Edda Federal Constituency Ebonyi State in the House of Representatives, Chief Iduma Igariwey, has donated N15 million to support the pet project of the wife of the governor, Mrs Maudline Nwifuru. The pet project; “Better Health for Rural Women, Children and Internally Displaced Persons” (BERWO), initiated to alleviate the plight of the downtrodden, curb gender-based violence, support education for the downtrodden has enrolled over 3,000 women and elderly free into the state health insurance agency.
Igariwey, who is also the Vice-Chairman House Committee on Appropriation, made the donation at Afikpo Local Government Area of the state during the flag-off and inauguration of local government BERWO committee and commissioning of EB-CSDA assisted community micro projects. “BERWO is our project, that is why I identify fully with the pet project of Mrs Nwifuru, I hereby donate N15 million to support its activities, it is a continuous support, it is for today and tomorrow,” he said.
