A 14-year-old boy, identified as Malik Kareem, has reportedly been beheaded for ritual purposes at the OlorisaOko Community, Akinyele Local Government Area, Oyo State.

The victim, it was learnt, recently wrote his final subject for the West Africa Examination Council at Iyana Community Grammar School, Olode, Moniya, Ibadan.

A source who spoke with our correspondent said that the victim and three of his friends who are of his age bracket contacted a Muslim cleric for money ritual on August 10, 2024, for money ritual.

The source said the other three boys went back to the cleric behind him and bargained with the cleric to use the victim for ritual without his knowledge which therefore resulted in beheading him.

Immediately the information filtered into town, some youths in the town angrily set the cleric’s house ablaze after they found out that the cleric was at large. Meanwhile, the police are currently investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, the Oyo State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), SP Adewale Osifeso, said investigation was ongoing on the matter. He said: “updates would be provided accordingly, after completion of the investigation on the matter, please.”
