Hardship: Oborevwori Releases 3rd Phase Palliative For Distribution

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has flagged-off the third phase of the grains palliative distribution exercise with a charge to workers in the state to embrace subsistence farming to cushion the rising effect of hunger in Nigeria.

The governor at the Delta Agricultural Procurement Agency (DAPA) Warehouse at Ibusa in Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state yesterday said food insecurity has become a quagmire in the light of the rising incidence of hunger in the country.

He charged the subsidy palliative distribution committee in the state to ensure that all farmers were carried along and bear in mind that some farmers are not members of the farmers’ association.

He said: “If you don’t announce yourself, nobody will announce you.

“All the things we have been doing for the past one year, we don’t even showcase them.

“We have done the first and second phases. We decided to do this very one in a grand-style because some people will not know that we are doing a lot.”
