There was pandemonium at the Government House in Asaba, Delta State yesterday as gunmen waylaid two occupants of a Toyota Camry with government plate number and opened fire on them.
The ill-fated vehicle, with registration number Delta 01A-75 DT was heading towards the Government House main-gate when the hoodlums struck by the popular Bridge FM Radio Station. The motive of the attackers was yet to be ascertained whether it was for robbery or kidnapping.
This came a month after a former female Commissioner, Evang Joan Onyemaechi, was trailed to her church, kidnapped and held for 10 days after her two orderlies were killed.
