
Suspected bandits have allegedly murdered a driver identified as Danladi Jobe and kidnapped two others on the Abuja-Kaduna route on Sunday, April 28.
A resident privy to the development, Yahuza Alhassan, on Monday while confirming the incident said it occurred at 9:33 p.m. at Dogon-Fili, a few kilometres from Jere town.
Alhassan added that the deceased were returning from a neighbouring village market when the bandits suddenly emerged from the jungle and opened fire on the automobile, killing the driver instantaneously.

Alhassan named one of the abducted victims as Shuaibu, a farmer, and stated that the robbers stole approximately N1 million in cash from him.
“The bandits after killing the driver now went after the man, who is a farmer and dispossessed im of N980,000 cash, before they now whisked him away alongside one other person from the car into the bush,” he said.
As of the time of filling this report, the spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police command is yet to release an official statement in reaction to the incident.
