Group Boosts 457,729 SMEs Farmers’ Productivity In N’Delta

A group, Foundation for Partnership Initiative in the Niger Delta (PIND), has supported 457,729 Small and Medium Entrepreneur farmers in Delta State, with over N51 billion expended to boost productivity and enhance peace-building capacity against violence.

PIND Coordinator, Chief Lawal Africas, at a training workshop, tagged, Capacity Strengthening for Prevent Council, in Asaba yesterday said the foundation has for a decade been at the forefront of conflict mediation for peace in the Niger Delta region.

He identified violence as the major driver of poverty, and maintained that every early warning of violence should be confronted with early response, if lives, destruction of property, displacement of women and their children, and economic sabotage, must be averted.

He said, “PIND has for years, sustained solutions that work within the Niger Delta on conflict resolution. The foundation has shaped the economy of the region with 457,729 SMEs farmers to enhance their productivity.”
