Following President Bola Tinubu’s Democracy Day speech on June 12, the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), has disclosed that a stable political environment is very crucial for business success and attracting foreign investments.
In addition, the Chamber stated that beyond the rhetoric of speeches, it is germane for the current administration to stay close to executing their proposed programmes and ongoing reforms to ensure Nigerians reap the dividends of democracy without any further delays. Director-General of LCCI, Dr Chinyere Almona, made this known to Saturday Telegraph in Lagos, saying that it was time all hands must be on deck to accelerate the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth without further delays.
She said that President Tinubu’s historic June 12 speech underscored the government’s dedication to democracy, economic development, security, and social cohesion. According to her, the government should consider the following: “Ensure clear and consistent communication about economic reforms and policies to businesses and the public to reduce uncertainty, build confidence. “And establish transparent mechanisms for tracking and reporting progress made through reforms.
