The Nasarawa State Government has sought partnership with India to set up a tractor maintenance and farm implementation workshop in the state.
Governor Abdullahi Sule made the request on Monday when he visited the India’s leading tractor and farm implementation manufacturer plant in Nagpur, india, in continuation of his 3-day visit to India on investment drive to the state.
Sule had attracted some companies and investors who had indicated strong interest in taking their businesses to Nasarawa during his visit.
At a meeting with top executives of Mahindra, in Nagpur, Monday, the governor expressed confidence in the company’s capabilities, saying setting up tractor maintenance facility in Nasarawa would have tremendous benefit to the citizens of the state.
Sule furthermore sought collaboration in the area of manpower development through training and re-training of young persons in a field he described as technical and technology driven.
He toured the tractor facility for over two hours engaging with the technical staff and heads of the various departments. including all the sections involved in the production from scratch to the fully assembled tractor.
A press statement issued by Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Ibrahim Addra, and make available to newsmen yesterday, said, governor Sule had carried out some quality testing, virtual painting and drove a tractor to have a feel of the 75 horsepower machine, during the visit.
Addra said that at the end of the visit to Nagpur, the governor inspected departments and facilities at the GH Raisoni College of Engineering.
