Fuel Scarcity: Again, NNPC Ltd Cautions Against Panic Buying

…Says it has over 1.5 billion litres stock of PMS, equivalent to over 30 days sufficiency

…Collaborating with NMDPRA, labour, others to address hoarding, others

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has once again called on motorists to shun panic buying of Petroleum Motor Spirt (PMS), otherwise known as petrol or fuel.

This is as it said that the nationwide supply and distribution of fuel, has continued to improve across the country.

According to the Petroleum Company, in filling stations monitored across several states, including Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, the queues have thinned out.

It promised that the development will keep improving daily in other states.

These were contained in a statement by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer, NNPC Ltd, Olufemi Soneye.

He said: “The company wishes to state that at the moment, it has over 1.5 billion litres stock of PMS, which is equivalent to over 30 days sufficiency.

“The NNPC Ltd is also collaborating with relevant downstream agencies, such as the Nigerian Midstream & Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), labour unions in the sector and security operatives, to address hoarding and other unwholesome practices.”
