Five Bandit Kingpins Surrender Ammunition To Military In Katsina

About five suspected bandit kingpins who have allegedly been terrorising Batsari, Safana, and Jibia Local Government Areas of Katsina State have surrendered and laid down their arms due to intense military operations in the areas.

It was learnt that the bandit leaders included Abu Radda, Umar Black, Abdullahi Lankai, Jijjige, and Dabar Musa Dan Gandu, all operating from the area.

It was further gathered from a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region that the armed groups voluntarily disarmed.

It was also learnt that during their surrender, they appealed to the government for alternative means of livelihood, requesting the construction of markets, hospitals, and access to clean water to aid their reintegration.

Their decision is was gathered was facilitated by the National Community for Security and Societal Advancement in Katsina State (NCSOSACK), led by Comrade Hamisa S. Batsari, who represents affected communities in security dialogues.
