Fire Guts Lagos LG Electronics Office, Destroys Goods

A massive fire outbreak at the LG Electronics office in Abule Osun, Trade Fair, Lagos, has resulted in the destruction of goods worth hundreds of millions of naira.

The incident occurred around midnight, with the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) receiving distress calls at 12:15 am.

Upon arrival at the scene at 00:40 hrs, the LASEMA officials found the entire warehouse engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading rapidly.

The blaze affected a wide range of items, including equipment, small forklifts, household goods, and electronics.

LASEMA Director-General, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu stated in a statement issued on Sunday, that the agency is working closely with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service to investigate the cause of the fire and prevent future incidents.

“The fire has been brought under control, but the extent of the damage is still being assessed. The incident highlights the importance of fire safety measures and emergency preparedness in commercial settings.”

LASEMA has also activated the fire unit to support the operation with several additional fire appliance trucks for a quick intervention,” he added.

“No fatalities or injuries in the incident but the fire has escalated to the entire premises.”

“The major warehouse has been severely damaged by the fire.

“However, through the effective collaborative efforts of the Agency’s LRT, LRU Fire Unit, the Lagos State Fire & Rescue Service, the Federal Fire Service, and other primary responders, the fire has been contained and prevented from spreading to adjacent structures, including other warehouses, a gas station, diesel tankers, expatriate quarters, and other adjoining buildings.
