Fire Guts Enugu Timber Market

A fire outbreak that erupted on Tuesday damaged five stores at the Timber Market on Kenyatta Street in Uwani, Enugu State.

According to the reports, the State Fire Service’s rapid response prevented the fire from spreading to other portions of the plywood market.

A firefighter, who wanted anonymity, said the department received a distress call at 9.45 p.m. that the market was on fire, and it immediately responded and extinguished the fire before it spread to other portions of the market.

”I thank God and the fire service for the quick response, otherwise, it would have been disastrous,” he said
