Fintiri Commiserates With Adamawa Flood Victims

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, yesterday visited Shuwa and Kirchinga communities in Madagali Local Government Area of the state, commiserating with the victims of the flood disaster that had wreaked havoc in the area, killing six people and rendering thousand others homeless.

Meanwhile, the situation has grounded both social and economic activities as the flood cut off Shuwa Bridge, linking Adamawa and Borno states, while houses, shops, boreholes and many valuables were destroyed.

Governor Fintiri, who commiserated with the victims, described the situation as pathetic, assuring the victims that the government will continue to support the victims with palliatives and other incentives.

He said even though the warning on the flooding from the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) came late, he advocated for a desk officer from the agency who will liaise with the state government to enlighten the masses at the right time.
