Following weeks of darkness in some communities in Niger State owing to vandalization, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has finally restored power to the Kontagora-Yauri 132 kilovolt Single Circuit line in the State.
The Transmission Company made this known in a statement issued on Thursday evening by Ndidi Mbah, the General Manager of Public Affairs of TCN.
It would be recalled that vandalism caused towers T38, T39, and T40 to collapse on April 5, 2024.

“Recall that on April 5, 2024, at about 1801Hrs, the Kontagora-Yauri 132kV Single Circuit line tripped on earth fault relay indication. On trial reclosure, the line tripped instantly.
“On patrolling the line the following day, TCN engineers discovered that towers T38, T39 and T40 had collapsed as they were totally vandalized,” the statement reads.
