The Sokoto State government has allocated over N190 million as compensation to the people of Tangaza for the construction of a vocational school by the Federal Government in the area.
State Commissioner for Lands, Housing, Urban and Regional Planning, Nasiru Aliyu Dan Tsoho, stated that the government has ensured the payment of the compensation to the landowners, which the previous government of Aminu Tambuwal failed to do.
The commissioner emphasized that the payment is being made according to the established procedure, with certificates issued to the beneficiaries after verification by the village head or district head, to avoid any misuse of funds.
He also appealed to the beneficiaries to use the funds to purchase more land for farming, to increase agricultural productivity.
