FG Committed To Completing Housing Projects- Dangiwa

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa has revealed the Federal Government’s steadfastness in its commitment to completing ongoing housing and urban development projects across the country.

Dangiwa gave this assurance on Tuesday in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Mark Chieshe.

Reaffirming the Ministry’s “Zero Tolerance for Uncompleted Projects,” Dangiwa highlighted the importance of this year’s Independence Day celebration as a turning point for Nigeria.

“We are beginning to fully harness our resources for the collective benefit of all Nigerians,” Dangiwa remarked.

He further elaborated on the “Renewed Hope Agenda” spearheaded by the Tinubu administration, which has ushered in significant reforms in housing and urban development.

“Our sector has seen transformational strides never before achieved,” Dangiwa said, pointing to the ongoing construction of 6,612 housing units across 13 states and the Federal Capital Territory, many of which are nearing completion.

The minister also emphasized urban renewal and slum upgrading projects in over 26 locations nationwide, aiming to provide essential infrastructure, including roads, water, electricity, and streetlights.

Dangiwa lauded President Bola Tinubu’s leadership in halting the “hemorrhaging” of national resources and redirecting them toward critical infrastructure development.

“We are transitioning into a new phase where Nigeria’s resources are being channeled into critical infrastructure, driving industrial growth, strengthening the economy, and making our country a more prosperous and livable place,” he said.

Additionally, Dangiwa spoke about the upcoming National Social Housing Fund, which aims to make homeownership more accessible to all Nigerians, regardless of their income levels.

In line with Tinubu’s call for a modest observance of this year’s Independence Day, Dangiwa urged citizens to remain hopeful and patient as Nigeria continues on the path toward a brighter future.
