Nigerian Filmmaker Femi Odugbemi has been appointed to serve on the esteemed Oscar International Engagement Committee of the Academy.
The committee, which is responsible for shaping the Academy’s global engagement strategy, focuses on key areas such as the membership process, governance, and impact programmes.
With his one-year engagement, Odugbemi will collaborate with a diverse group of international professionals to help guide the Academy’s mission of global inclusivity and influence in the film industry.
The committee will meet virtually three times over the next year, in mid-October, February, and April, to accommodate members across various time zones.
“I am honored to join the Academy’s International Engagement Committee and excited to contribute to its efforts in promoting global representation and strengthening international connections within the film industry,” said Odugbemi.
“I look forward to working alongside fellow committee members to drive meaningful engagement worldwide.”
