Jimmy Carter, the 39th United States (US) president who led the nation from 1977 to 1981 on Tuesday, October 1, celebrated his 100th birthday.
Carter is the first-ever US President to reach the century milestone. He is also known for his extraordinary story as a peanut farmer who found his way to the White House.
It would be recalled that the former president began hospice care at his home in Georgia, more than 19 months ago and has defied all expectations.
