Everton Set To Hijack Deal For Iheanacho As Villa Opens Talks With Player’s Reps

Everton are poised to beat other contenders to the signing of Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho. The Toffees are pushing for the signing after they successfully warded off relegation worries.

Iheanacho has been the subject of intense transfer speculations after it emerged that he would not be renewing his contract with Leicester City at the end of the season. Other Premier League outfits especially Crystal Palace and Aston Villa have also indicated interest in signing the soon-to-be free agent.

Everton’s former CEO, Keith Wyness, has opened up on the discussions within the hierarchy at Goodison Park, revealing that the Nigerian striker is a target for Sean Dyche’s team.

Speaking on the Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 spoke on Iheanacho’s situation with Leicester City. Meanwhile, reports have also suggested that Aston Villa have opened talks with Iheanacho’s representatives.
