Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has made hints that Rodri would soon be removed from the starting lineup.
Rodri acknowledged he was “tired” after their Champions League match against Real Madrid on Tuesday, ending in a 3-3 draw.
“To be honest, I think I can do better than anyone else, but we need to take a break,” the Spaniard remarked.

On Friday, Guardiola was questioned on Rodri’s remarks.
He responded: “If a player doesn’t want to play, he’s not going to play. If he’s tired, feel exhausted, it can happen – another player is going to play.
“I will have to rest central defenders but we don’t have them. We cannot rest.”
