Chelsea and England international, Cole Palmer on Saturday made Premier League history by becoming the first player to score four goals in the first half of a match, leading his team to a commanding 4-2 victory over Brighton at Stamford Bridge.

Brighton started the game on the front foot, with Georginio Rutter heading home the opener in the 7th minute after a misplaced pass from Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sánchez.

However, Chelsea responded quickly, and it was Palmer who ignited their comeback.

In the 21st minute, he calmly slotted home an equalizer for the hosts, marking his first goal at Stamford Bridge this season.

Seven minutes later, Jadon Sancho was brought down in the box, earning a penalty for Chelsea.

Palmer stepped up and confidently converted the spot-kick to give the Blues a 2-1 lead.

Palmer wasn’t done yet. In the 31st minute, he delivered a stunning free-kick, extending Chelsea’s lead to 3-1 as Brighton struggled to organize their defense.

Just three minutes later, Brighton capitalized on another Sánchez error, with Carlos Noom Quomah Baleba pulling one back for the visitors.

Despite Brighton’s efforts, Chelsea continued to press, and in the 41st minute, Palmer netted his fourth goal of the game after a brilliant pass from Sancho, putting Chelsea firmly in control with a 4-2 lead before halftime.

The second half was a more cautious affair, with both teams tightening up defensively. Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson had several chances to extend the lead but failed to capitalize before being substituted by Christopher Nkunku in the 79th minute. Despite the early fireworks, no goals were scored in the second half, and the match ended 4-2 in favor of Chelsea.

This victory pushes Chelsea to third place in the Premier League table, just one point behind leaders Manchester City and second-placed Arsenal.
