Embrace Growth, Challenges,  Akawor Advises Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Dr Princess Akawor, the visionary founder of LuxeByGlamoholic, has urged aspiring entrepreneurs to embrace growth and challenges as key steps toward success.

Speaking on her journey in the luxury fashion industry, Dr Akawor shared how her experiences, including earning a doctorate from Freedom University and Technology Seminary and receiving the CEO Africa Award as one of Africa’s Outstanding Young CEOs, have shaped her business philosophy and leadership style.

She received her honorary doctorate on October 5, 2024, a milestone that she describes as transformative in shaping her brand’s forward-thinking strategies.

“Success is not just about what you achieve, but about how you inspire others and rise above challenges,” Dr. Akawor said, emphasising the importance of persistence and continuous growth.

With LuxeByGlamoholic, a luxury fashion brand established in 2010, she has created a retail empire renowned for quality and elegance, with outlets in major Nigerian cities such as Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt.

Dr. Akawor reflected on her transition from biomedical technology to fashion, noting that her background equipped her with a unique perspective on detail and precision, which has contributed to her brand’s success.

“My doctorate has given me the tools to think strategically and lead effectively, while the CEO Africa Award confirmed my dedication to excellence in the fashion industry,” she explained.

As she continues to expand her brand, Dr Akawor said she remains focused on delivering luxury fashion products that meet the highest standards, noting that the combination of her academic achievements and recognition has driven her to innovate and maintain the quality that LuxeByGlamoholic is known for.

“The fashion industry is competitive, but staying true to quality and embracing challenges has been key to our success,” she added.

In her advice to young entrepreneurs, Dr. Akawor stressed the need for resilience and a passion for growth, saying, “You must be willing to constantly learn and grow, even when faced with obstacles.”

“Challenges are part of the journey, but they should be seen as opportunities for growth and innovation,” she encouraged.

Dr Akawor said she is currently working on expanding LuxeByGlamoholic’s reach and visibility through new rebranding strategies and customer engagement initiatives, including immersive fashion pop-up events, adding, “These efforts aim to further establish the brand as a leading name in Nigeria’s luxury fashion market while offering an exclusive and memorable shopping experience.”

“Success is not a destination but a journey of continuous improvement and inspiration,” Dr. Akawor concluded, urging the next generation of entrepreneurs to stay committed to their vision and to never stop striving for excellence.
