Ekiti AGILE Engages Religious Leaders Towards Advancing Girl-child Education

The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE), a World Bank sponsored programme in Ekiti State has held a stakeholders meeting aimed at curbing the cases of out of school children and promoting the girlchild education.

The event, which was held at the Conference Hall of the Office of the First Lady in Ado Ekiti had the commitment of the religious leaders in mobilising Ekiti people who are also members of their religious inclinations to tackle the various challenges affecting girl-child education in the State. I

n her speech, the wife of the Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, said the Biodun Oyebanji-led administration had invested a lot on the education sector particularly in providing conducive learning environment for pupils and students in both public primary and secondary schools in the state.

Oyebanji who stressed the need for all stakeholders to come together to ensure that the investments do not go down the drains called on religious leaders to sensitize their followers on the need to enroll their children and wards in schools.
