Eid Prayers: Certain Sacrifices Must Be Made – Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday, reiterated the need for sacrifices on the part of all stakeholders for the prosperity of the nation.

Also going by a declaration by the President in a chat with journalists after this year’s Eid-El Kabir prayers, the country possesses all it takes to be prosperous as a people.

This is as President Tinubu said after Eid prayers at the Dordan Barrack Central mosque, Lagos on Wednesday; “Allah would not burden the country with what it cannot bear”. He also urged Nigerians to keep faith in God so that they will once again experience peace, stability, and prosperity.

While thanking God for sound health, the president also noted certain sacrifices are inevitable and must be made.

”I thank Almighty Allah for keeping us in good health till today and pray to Him to grant us robust health and prosperity.

“We have to make the sacrifices and that is clear, we have to” a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy, Mr Dele Alake quoted the president as saying.

Speaking further, he urged citizens to have faith in the country and themselves. They must also believe in the need to be united in turning the times for good in the country.

”But Allah will not give you a burden that you cannot carry. He is there for us. We must have faith in the country. Have faith in ourselves, believing that as citizens of this country, we must join hands to build the nation the president said,

Stressing the need for citizens to be united for the sake of the country, President Tinubu also urged Nigerians to pray for the nation’s troops as they battle for the soul of the country, saying, it is his earnest desire and that of the nation that they emerge victorious.

”No religious identity, no tribal identity, let us live with one another in joy and prosperity. Nigeria will see peace and stability and God will grant peace to those of us at the war front.”

Led by the Chief Imam of Lagos State, Sheikh Sulaiman Oluwatoyin Abu-Nolah, the prayer was attended by the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, former Governor of Lagos State and immediate past Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, among other notable government officials and top politicians.
