Eguavoen, Lawal to Hit Enugu for NNL Super Eight

The Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation, Austin Eguavoen, will be in Enugu for the Nigeria National League Super Eight Playoff games. Eguavoen, a member of the Super Eagles 1994 squad speaking to NNL Media described the NNL as a very important domestic league in Nigeria due to the array of young players who ply their trade in it. “NNL is very important; it is a NFF’s critical project.

We have such important age bracket of players in the league that should serve as feeder to the national U-20 and U-23 teams.

“I expect coach of the Flying Eagles Ladan Bosso, to be in Enugu which obviously provides the platform for him to scout for players,” Eguavoen said. Cerezo as he is fondly called further said that the eight coaches of the qualified teams and their technical crew must ensure they portray the best of standards at all times on and off the pitch “We expect the best of behaviour from the coaches and their crew to conform with global standard.” Another ex- international Garba Lawal equally admonished the teams and their management to ensure better discipline.

“We cannot afford to rubbish ourselves and the league, this league is important, I started my career with this league since 1991 and I also had a club that played in the NNL, all my life I always preach discipline, it is the watchword,” Lawal said The NNL promotional Super Eight is scheduled to take place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, from June 7 to 14.
