EFCC Nabs 23 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Ibadan

The operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan Zonal Directorate, have apprehended 23 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud.

According to the anti-graft agency, the arrests were carried out in the Akobo area of Ibadan, Oyo State, following actionable intelligence linking the suspects to fraudulent online activities.

Items seized during the operation include eight luxury cars, several laptops, mobile phones, and a PlayStation console, among other gadgets allegedly used in perpetrating the fraudulent schemes.

The EFCC confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of thorough investigations.

The agency urged citizens to report suspicious activities and reaffirmed its commitment to combating cybercrime and related offences across the country.
