On Saturday, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukayode urged Nigerian politicians to provide full disclosure on constituency project budgets.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Kano State, Olukoyede emphasized the importance of transparency in governance, urging lawmakers to publicly reveal project budgets, timelines, and contractor details to their constituents.
According to him, citizens have the right to know how public funds are being allocated and spent in their communities, and called for stronger public oversight to curb corruption.

Olukoyede also noted the need for collaboration between anti-corruption agencies, local communities, and political leaders to ensure proper utilization of funds meant for development projects.
He reiterated the EFCC’s commitment to enforcing accountability and warned that failure to disclose these details could lead to sanctions or investigations.
The chairman further encouraged Nigerians to actively engage in monitoring these projects to prevent fraud and misappropriation of funds.
