
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 33 suspected internet fraudsters in a sting operation in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The operatives from the Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate made the arrests at various hideouts around the Iwofe and Ogboro areas.
The operation was carried out following credible intelligence on the suspects’ involvement in internet fraud.

New Telegraph reports that during the operation, EFCC officials recovered a variety of incriminating items.
The recovered items include mobile phones, laptops, boxes of counterfeit United States dollars, fake FBI stamps, Customs stamps, airport clearance stamps, and stamps from logistics companies DHL and FedEx.
Additionally, two cars believed to have been acquired through fraudulent means were also seized.
The suspects are currently under investigation and will be charged to court once the process is concluded.
