EFCC: 11 Suspected Internet Fraudster Apprehended In Rivers

At least 11 suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by the Rivers State Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), In Port Harcourt.

The suspects were arrested for alleged involvement in internet fraud in a sting operation carried out at Whimpey, Ada George area of Port Harcourt.

The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, in a statement issued on Friday, said the arrests were made after credible intelligence was obtained about their alleged computer fraud activities, as well as several days of surveillance in the locations.

According to him, “Arrested with them are four cars, diverse brands of phones and laptop computers containing fraudulent documents,”

Oyewale assured that the suspects will be charged in court at the conclusion of investigations.
