The Southern Nigeria Senators Forum has lauded the people of Edo State for electing Senator Monday Okpebholo as the Governor of Edo State in Saturday’s gubernatorial election.
This was as the forum expressed confidence that his leadership would bring substantial progress and development to the state.
In a statement released on Monday, the Forum’s Chairman, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, praised Okpebholo’s strong track record of achievements and his deep understanding of the challenges facing Edo State, qualities that they believe make him well-suited to lead the state towards growth and advancement.
“The forum expressed optimism that Senator Okpebholo’s tenure as governor will usher in a new era of progress and development for Edo State, given his track record of service in the Senate and his understanding of the challenges facing the state,” the statement read.

The Forum extended its heartfelt congratulations to Senator Okpebholo, acknowledging his successful election as the Executive Governor-Elect of Edo State in the election held on September 21, 2024.
The Southern Nigeria Senators Forum also pledged their continued support and cooperation with the governor-elect, urging him to stay committed to the advancement of Edo State and to contribute positively to the nation as a whole.
As Okpebholo prepares to assume office, expectations are high that his administration will deliver on the promises of development and good governance that have been central to his campaign.
