Edo Poll: IGP Commends Security Agencies For Professionalism

Following the September 21 Governorship election in Edo State, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun has commended the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) personnel and other security agencies for their exceptional professional conduct during the election.

Egbetokun gave the commendation on Wednesday in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi in Abuja.

The IGP specifically appreciate the exemplary exhibit of discipline and objectiveness displayed by security personnel throughout the election period.

The IGP said, “‘The peaceful conduct of the governorship election serves as a testament to the dedication and hard work of the security forces.

“The IGP specifically expresses appreciation for the exemplary display of discipline and neutrality exhibited by security personnel throughout the election period. Their commitment to maintaining law and order, ensuring public safety, and protecting the democratic process is truly commendable”.

Furthermore, The IGP assured members of the public of steadfastness in the commitment of the Nigeria Police to ensure the safety and security of the people of Nigeria.

The statement added that the IGP has directed tactical teams and intellect contingents deployed to the state for the conduct of the election to remain in the state to continue to strengthen security standards until further notice saying that this proactive measure was to retain peace and public security throughout the state.
