Edo: Parents of abducted pupils yet to be contacted

The parents of the abducted pupils of Glory Land Group of Schools in Igarra, Akoko- Edo Local Government Area of Edo are yet to be contacted by abductors of their children. Mr. Kola Momodu, father of the abducted two girls, disclosed this yesterday while speaking with newsmen in Auchi. Momodu, who expressed worry over the safety of his children, however, pleaded for the safe release of his children.

It will be recalled that the pupils of Glory Land Group of Schools in Edo State were kidnapped on Tuesday by gunmen at about 5:35 pm along Igarra-Auchi Road, near Ikpeshi in Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo. It was also gathered that the vehicle in which the pupils, who are sisters, were traveling with some students was intercepted at gunpoint and the abductors dragged the students out of the vehicle into the bush. The spokesman for Edo State Police Command, SP Kontongs Bello, who confirmed the incident, said the police operatives, soldiers and vigilantes were already combing the bush in order to rescue the abducted kids.
