Edo Govt Lauds Leadership Qualities Of Outgoing State University VC, Aluyor

The Edo State Government has lauded the leadership qualities of the outgoing Vice Chancellor of Edo State University, Uzairue, Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor.

The State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, represented by the state Commissioner for Education, Dr Joan Osa Oviawe at an event held to mark the eight years and six months tenure of Prof. Aluyor in Benin-City, said the distinguished leadership and innovative qualities of the outgoing VC is unmatchable.

Dr Oviawe said she appreciated the former VC more when she visited the campus of the University and the way he managed the school, the programmes, and the innovations he introduced are commendable, saying whoever takes over from him should continue the work of excellence.

“I wish the tenure is renewable; we would have been clamouring for renewal. I hope we will be able to call on you when we need you”, she added.

Oviawe, however, presented a certificate of appreciation, recognizing the outstanding contributions of Prof Aluyor to the institution.

In his address, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dawood Egbefo said the occasion is to mark the end of Prof Aluyor’s tenure in the University and to bid farewell to a leader whose tenure has left an indelible mark in the institution.

Prof Egbefo further stated that the occasion is not only to acknowledge the accomplishment of the outgoing VC, but also a time for reflection, celebration, gratitude and an expression of “Our heartfelt appreciation for the dedication, vision and unwavering commitment Prof Aluyor demonstrated throughout his tenure.

“His visionary leadership has given birth to the transformation of our University into a beacon of knowledge, enlightenment and progress” he said.

He added that apart from all the achievement recorded under Prof Aluyor, the hall mark of his tenure is the uninterrupted academic session in the university since its inception.
