Ebonyi To Spend N1.2bn On Revitalisation Of Factory

Ebonyi State government is to expend a total of N1.2 billion in the revitalisation of the state pipe production factory located in the capital city.

Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Engr. Jude Chikadibia Okpor, made the disclosure in Abakaliki during a joint media briefing with his counterpart at the Ministry of Commerce/Industry, Mr Oguzor Offia Nwali.

He said the present administration was committed to the revival of the factory and had increased the production line to six from the initial four it inherited.

“So far, the government has sunk N1 billion, fifty million and seven hundred and sixty one thousand ex – cluding the N117 million spent on cutis wires’ “It is expected that the government will spend a little above N1.2 billion to bring the company to full revitalisation.

“Past administration under Chief Martin Elechi build the industry, it was not sustained because the managers were not committed leading to the moribund nature of the factory”.

The information commissioner reiterated that the government was getting demands across the country on the pipes.
