Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has visited the Alaba International Market following the demolition of some building in the area by the Lagos State Government.
Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu the President-General of the Igbo socio-political group paid a fact-finding visit to the market in Lagos for an on-the-spot assessment of the tragedy that befell the Igbo traders in the Alaba market.
According to statement issued by Dr Chiedozie Alex Ogbonnia, the National Publicity Secretary, the group disclosed that Iwuanyanwu, visited the market to sympathize with the affected traders.
Iwuanyanwu expressed deep grief over the extent and worth of the demolitions, and the huge loss of goods.
He asked the Igbo traders to remain unfazed and in high spirits, assuring them that he will stand against any form of injustice against any Igbo, anywhere and anytime.
The Ohanaeze President, however, expressed immense delight over the warm reception by the thousands of Ndigbo that came out to receive him and the members of Ohanaeze delegation.
