An elder statesman and business magnate, Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has donated a whopping sum of ₦1.5 billion to aid the victims of the recent devastating flood in Maiduguri, Borno State capital.
Dantata, accompanied by a delegation from Kano State, presented the donation at Government House, Maiduguri, on Tuesday.
During his visit, he expressed his deep condolences to Governor Babagana Zulum, the state government, and the residents affected by the disaster, especially those who lost their loved ones.

Dantata highlighted the economic challenges facing the nation and called on elites and political leaders to act with integrity and fear of Allah in their dealings.
He also offered prayers for peace and unity in Borno State and across Nigeria.
In response, Governor Zulum conveyed profound appreciation for Dantata’s visit, emphasizing that his gesture of generosity serves as a significant source of hope and solidarity during these difficult times.
“The people of Borno deeply appreciate this show of humanity by a 96-year-old to visit us. Let me say it, Our Baba has donated the sum of ₦1.5 billion to support the flood victims. May Allah bless and reward you with Aljannah. Mu gode, Baba,” Zulum stated.
This donation follows a similar generous contribution from Dantata’s nephew, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who donated ₦1 billion to assist the flood-affected individuals.
