Dangote Refinery has refuted claims made by the spokesperson of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mr Olufemi Soneye, that it sold Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to NNPCL at N898 per litre.
In a press statement issued on Sunday, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, labelled the statement as misleading and emphasized that the pricing of PMS has not been officially announced.

The Dangote refinery clarified that the product was sold in dollars, with significant savings compared to imported fuel.
It was also stated in the statement that an official pricing announcement is expected to be announced on October 1, 2024.
“We urged Nigerians to disregard this malicious statement and await a formal announcement on the pricing, by the Technical Sub-Committee on Naira-based crude sales to local refineries, appointed by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, which will commence on October 1, 2024, bearing in mind that our current stock of crude was procured in dollars,” the statement read.
Dangote further assured Nigerians of the availability of quality petroleum product and putting an end to the endemic fuel scarcity in the country.
